For the entry level races try www.bigblueadventure.com, they are a great way to learn and meet people, then you can "graduate" to longer races. A new series this year that I'd recommend, www.norcal-ar.com/events3.html

Maybe someone from N.Cal should answer you with the races. You should start running and biking on a regular basis. Then choose on short 2-4h long race and just try to finish. Just enjoy and ahve fun.

I just shot my TV and i wanna start racing. I dont know anything about how to get started except i gotta get better shoes. Im based in N Cali and wanna do a race in the Sierras. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
